Summer of Service Stories

Mary's Place- Aug. 13th, 15th, 17th
This past week three groups headed out to Mary's Place this week to spend time blessing the mother and children at this drop in center. We were able to make them lunch, help stuff envelopes, lead the women in a craft, and lead the children in a craft. It was a blessing to get to know some of these women and see the amazing work that the volunteers and staff at Mary's Place do.

Car Care Bags- June 25th
All ages gathered to put together car care bags for the homeless. We had such generous donations from the congregations we put together around 200 bags. With the great amount of people there, it took us about 30 minutes to fill all the bags. The next Sunday people were invited to bring a bag or two home with them and they were gone fast! I continue to hear stories about how people are blessing others by giving them these bags.

BINGO- June 18th
A large crowd gathered at NCPC for a fun game of BINGO. The prizes were Fred Meyer gifts cards and winners were asked to use the gift card to purchase something to bless someone else.

Lemonade Stands- All Summer
All summer we have had children around the area setting up lemonade stands to raise money for North Creek mission partners. They raised money for places like New Hope and Mary's Place.

Dinner at the Creek- June 28th
We gathered for a lovely dinner with people from the community in need of food or just someone to connect with. Members from North Creek, including several children, worked together too cook the meal, welcome visitors, pass out the meal, and engage one another in conversation. This monthly dinner is a great way for families to serve together!

Military Care Packages- June 23rd
Over 20 people gathered on Saturday June 23rd to bake cookies, sort candy, and pack care packages for men and women serving in the military. Thanks to a great team and many people who donated supplies, we were able to pack 18 boxes to send out!

All Church Work Party- June 9th
We kicked-off our Summer of Service with an all generational work party at the church on Saturday June 9th! We had kids from 4 years old all the way up to grandparents helping clean up the church. We did things from cleaning windows, power washing sidewalks, weeding, trimming bushes and much more! Thanks to all who participated!
